Danielle Mather, Kali Purt & Sydney Jones

Lake Placid, NY- Three members of the Oswego Figure Skating Club, Sydney Jones, Danielle Mather and Kali Purt all from Oswego traveled to Lake Placid, NY to compete in the 28th Annual Empire State Winter Games. The local skaters competed against sixty -five other girls from across New York State in the Intermediate Ladies Freeskate.

Before, they competed on Saturday, they participated on Friday evening in the Winter Games Opening Ceremonies.

Sydney Jones placed second in her opening round Flight A , and placed second in the finals taking home a Silver Medal.

Danielle Mather placed second in her opening round Flight C, qualified for the finals and finished eleventh in the final round.

Kali Purt placed eighth in her opening round in Flight A , this flight proved to be very competitive with it's four finalists placing second, third, fourth and eighth in the Finals.

The girls were able to participate in thrilling competition, be spectators for events such as Ski Jumping, Speed Skating and Womens Ice Hockey while being able to take in some of the majestic awe of Lake Placid, the Adirondacks and the History of the Winter Olympics.
